Are All Vampires Sexy?

Eric from TV’s True Blood, played by Alexander Skaarsgard

The simple answer is – NO

TV and movies have done much to perpetuate the notion that all vampires are sexy. According to some, we vampires think more about sex than we do blood. But like most things related to personal taste, sexiness is a very subjective quality.

“One man’s meat is another man’s poison.”

“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.”

“Insert witty proverb here”

As you should be aware by now (and if you’re not, you better read Vampires Revealed fast) vampires emit a subconsious broadcast which makes us appear beautiful to the human eye. Appearing beautiful never hurt anyone, in fact it usually opens a few doors – virtually and literally. Physically beauty in someone of your sexual preference generally leads to a perception of being sexy.

Vampires use their apparent beauty and allure to attract prey. Much easier to feed unnoticed if the victim comes to you. What you must remember is, in most cases, what you are seeing is a deception; a trick on your mind. You must be aware of this and look closer. Better advice is to stop looking and run like Hell.

Quite frankly I am growing increasingly more angry with media portrayal of vampires. Previously we were only ever seen as blood-drinking monsters, now more frequently we are portrayed as sex-machines. The media never get it right.

Below are some of the “sexiest” vampires portrayed in TV and movies, as voted by humans on some ridiculous entertainment website.

It’s All About You

Recently I received the following email from Amy:

I find this site very interesting. I would love to learn more about Vampires. I would also like to actually believe and know they exist. I’m sure you get hundreds of these type of questions but I can’t get Vampires out of my mind. I need to know more. I’m usually a person of science and lately I’ve been thinking maybe I’m wrong? Please help!

This blog is as much about you (the reader) as it is me or vampires. By now you should realise I’m very open about sharing information, so all you need do is ask.

Now before you begin bombarding me with an avalanche of questions…. Have you read Vampires Revealed? It is a virtual treasure trove of vampire information. Have you fully explored the archived articles? These should be your first steps.

Alright, so you’ve read Vampires Revealed and scoured this site, and there are some things you still don’t quite understand and have questions about. This was inevitable. It doesn’t matter how much work I put into it, I am always going to gloss over or forget things entirely.

You see, I am a vampire. So there are many things about being a vampire that I simply don’t notice or take for granted because its just the way it is. Much like if you were trying to explain being human or what life is like in your country. Many things seem passe and we become quite nonchalant when describing them.

So my dear readers, what do you want to know? And remember, there is no such thing as stupid question, only stupid assumptions. You can sumbit your questions here: Contact Bektamun

Before I go I would like to give you a quick update on the progress of Desires Revealed. Nicole has finally decided to be co-operative and is assisting me to narrate the tale. With her help I anticipate it won’t be too long before I can announce a first draft is completed. Stay tuned for details coming soon….

Do Vampires Turn The Willing?

Yes vampires turn the willing, in fact they will only change the willing.

If you believe books and movies vampires turn humans out of loneliness, looking for a companion. Total nonsense! There is more to consider than pure companionship.

Also forget the images of abduction and ceremonial changing from human to vampire, it never happens.

Centuries ago permission had to be granted by the Grand Council before any vampire could attempt to change a human. Such was our elitist preferences. These days rules have been relaxed somewhat.

Haeyled are not created ad hoc or willy-nilly to coin a human phrase. Not all humans are cut out for being a vampire, and vampires are somewhat elitist. For any human to become vampire they must bring something of value to vampires.

In the past, vampires have sought humans for their knowledge or understanding of the world. More recently, any human who displays what vampires consider exemplary characteristics is more likely to be considered.

Vampires highly regard humans that show; courage, wisdom, creativeness, tenacity, diligence, leadership, discretion, initiative and above all loyalty. Other characteristics such as compassion, patience and tolerance are also valued by some vampires. This is because they enable vampires to better understand and assimilate among humans. Excerpt from Vampires Revealed

Changing an unwilling human is like playing Russian Roulette, with a high probability you will lose. One of the key factors to a successful change is the willingness of the human to shed their humanity and allow vampire nature to take over.

Do Vampires Cry?

Humans cry – vampires DO NOT cry. How many times do I have to tell you people – vampires are VERY different to human beings.

Just because some silly TV show use a fancy special effect, doesn’t make it fact or real

Now I know a lot of you think you are experts because you’ve read heaps of vampire books and watched movies and TV. None of the people involved with creating these mediums would recognise a vampire if he came up and bit them on the neck. They live in fantasy land, and that’s what they sell you…FANTASY.

Who am I am to tell you about vampires? Well for starters, I am a vampire. Been around for 3000 years. How many vampires do you know are willing to sit down and share all their knowledge with you?

Enough with the ranting, back to the subject at hand. Vampires are creatures of action not feeling. Our brains are wired almost the exact opposite of humans, in so much as the conscious mind has majority control. It is the subconcious mind where emotions live and are processed. In vampires, the subconsious mind only equates to about 10-20% of brain function.

Without the space to process emotions this is why, to humans at least, vampires appear to be ‘cold’ or ‘aloof’. Whereas to vampires, humans come across as over-emotional weaklings.

In closing, vampires don’t: pee, poop, sweat or cry. Any other bodily functions you want to know about? Submit a question: Contact Bektamun

Forever Vampire

There are a multitude of facets and practicalities one must face as an immortal vampire, these are dependant on the lifestyle chosen. Some vampires continue to live as nomads on the fringe of humanity, others interact with humans solely for the purpose of feeding. For vampires such as me, who choose to live among humans, the greatest challenge is not allowing the changing face of society and the world to leave us behind. From Vampires Revealed

Do Vampires Vote, Pay Taxes?

Do Vampires Vote, Pay Taxes?

As a general rule, vampires living as human try to stay off the official ‘radar’ as much as possible. I can’t give you explicit details as to how we achieve this, because some methods we use are legally grey at best. My greatest concern is a time will come when there are no loopholes left to exploit and vampires will be compelled forever to live in shadows on the fringe of the society, the alternative being to declare our existence to mankind. From Vampires Revealed.

Making Vampires

For centuries Naevled vampires were unaware they could transform humans into vampires. My brother Kahotep has the honor of that discovery.

The process of metamorphosis from human to vampire is difficult and not always successful.

How To Meet A Vampire

How To Meet A Vampire

Received from Annie:

“I remember your warnings, i know it’s beyond dangerous. But how can one meet a vampire? Is there any type of energy/aura that vampires have that allows a human to sense your kind? I have a gift from my ancestors to feel the spirit of creatures and determine if they have evil or good energy within them. It would be a nice feeling to find out the aura of a vampire.”

Bektamun’s Disclaimer: ALL VAMPIRES ARE DANGEROUS – and you should avoid them at all costs.

That said, I will now try and answer Annie’s question.

What Happens To A Vampire In The Vaccuum of Space

What Happens To A Vampire In The Vaccuum of Space

Everyone knows what happens to a human body when exposed to the vacuum of space.  The body swells and eventually explodes from a lack of oxygen.  WRONG!  Once again our “knowledge” relies on the sensationalism of Hollywood.

While exploding bodies make for great movie scenes and tempting trailers, its not what happens when a body is exposed to a vacuum, such as found in outer space.

Do Vampires Keep Pets?

Do Vampires Keep Pets?

To vampires animals are just another source of food.  Do you have pet carrots?

However because I have a staff of humans living with me, there is occasionally a cat as part of the household.  Generally animals are very wary of vampires because they sense the predator we are.
