Hello my dear friends and readers, I feel I have been neglecting you the past few weeks. There is no excuse for such behaviour, but I hope you will forgive me. I’ve been busily working on my project, to tell you Nicole’s story.
Telling another’s story has proven to be much more difficult than I first imagined. In addition, Nicole has not been particularly helpful in assisting me to recall certain details. She cares not if I tell her story, but will do nothing to help me. This I must say is infuriating. However I can’t stay angry with her. She has been my lover and companion for many centuries, it would take more than obstinacy to truly cause any rift between us.

Marquis De Sade
Recently I have rediscovered the writings of a most infamous human being – Marquis De Sade.
For those of you not familiar with his exploits, I suggest taking a quick peek – here
He spent a good portion of his life in prison on one charge or another, and it is in prison he did most of his writing.
The most famous (notorious) of his works is his self-proclaimed masterpiece 120 Days of Sodom.
Upon reacquainting myself with this work, I was disturbed to find yet again in the imaginings, if not the actions of humans, behaviour and notions far more monstrous than vampires.
While it has been suggested the Marquis partook of the atrocities and humilations mentioned in his writing, there is no hard evidence to corroborate this thesis. Even if what is detailed in his writing is purely the work of imagination, what kind of depravity could imagine inflicting these actions on their own species?
Once again a minority of humanity demonstrates their disdain for their brethren. If humans can so easily torture, persecute, demean and humilate their own kind, then how much worse would their behaviour be to others who are not their kind?
As a human, you should think very carefully what your actions towards others may invite upon yourself.
While I continue to pursue completing Nicole’s story I will endeavour to ensure my absence and lack of communication is limited. Please keep in mind that while I am away, I am always working at bringing you the truth as never told before.
