All vampires are killers, this is an inescapable fact. We need blood for nourishment and survival and human blood is primo tasty.
For most vampires taking a human life in pursuit of their own survival is considered an ‘occupational hazard‘. To humans this must seem like a very nonchalant approach to murder. The simple truth is; on the food chain, vampires are numero uno. Sorry, that’s just how it is.
Whether a vampire chooses to live among humans, such as I do, or on the fringe of society, generally we try to keep the body count down and feed only for necessity. This is despite the fact we experience an incomparable euphoria when drinking human blood.
What I’m trying to explain is: we could be a whole lot worse than we are.
At the opposite end of the scale we have vampires of the Eleiveb. They are extremists among the vampire nation. Skirting the law, both human and vampire, to sate their bloodlust.
The Eleiveb firmly believe humans can serve no purpose to vampires except as food. They hunt and feed indiscriminately for pleasure, not survival. They would dearly love to see a vampire revolution take over the world and have humans farmed like cattle.
Being fed from or killed by a vampire should not be a high priority to any human, but…if it has to happen, pray to whatever God you recognize it isn’t an Eleiveb vampire.
When a vampire feeds, they try to make it as quick and painless and possible for their victim. I’d like to tell you this is out of concern for the human, but it’s more to do with drawing attention to ourselves. Regardless of the motivation, at least the effort is made.
Eleiveb on the other hand immensely enjoy terrorizing and torturing their victims. They will use telepathy broadcast to keep their victim in a perpetual state of horror. They have even been known to keep blood slaves.
Blood slaves are kept for weeks, sometimes even months, in a constant state of agony. Fed from and drained multiple times. You must remember, vampires are very familiar with the human anatomy. Not only do we know how to kill quickly, we know how to kill slowly.
For centuries now I have waged an illegal war against the Eleiveb. I kill them at every opportunity. Despite my best efforts, their numbers flourish and humanity suffers for their existence.

Murder? Not at all. Survival is of the utmost importance. Humans in their lack of understanding and to even care causes their own demise. To see it Their way… They have been here since time began. Are we (humans) the one to decide as to which has a “higher” stake at this? How would humans feel if aliens came to take over, then they, the humans would be in the same situation as Vampires. So think about it when you humans want to “kill” a species who was probably here first, if not for a more superior reason.
